Issue 29

Got a few more body panels, but the really interesting thing is the lower support ring for the skeleton. It's pretty straightforward: just find the piece with the tab (BF-32 as seen in the picture below) and line the ring up to match it. From there, just screw down the rest of the holes that we have so far, making sure to keep everything lined up properly.

It does seem to add a nice bit of stability to the ol' skeleton, I'm pleased to say. We're getting close to the halfway point on that part, at least.

Issue 28

So, not much to tell this time. More accumulation of parts for later, and also the top half of the corridor we got last issue. We've seen it all before, so let's just skip to the end result:

Issue 27

Well, been busy what with work and various side projects, but did manage to hit the next issue all right.

First off, we finally get to put the support system together. Now, this isn't 100% guaranteed to be correct, but from studying the magazine photos, this appears to be the correct order:

Note the circle and "pill" indentations are different for each one. That should help differentiate.

Anyway, here's the next bit of corridor. No surprises here:

And finally a bit of skeleton from the last 3 issues:

Okay! This was a busy one, to be sure. Probably the next one will be back to the quickies, but I guess we'll see. Anyway, back to chipping away at it.

Issue 26

So, here we are at Issue 26, more skeleton and body parts to save, as usual, plus the rest of the current corridor and a bit of a new one:

First, we get two floor pieces and a ceiling:

Once they're painted (or not), the sides go on them, like so:

Notice the 3 "pads" are at the top, 4 on the bottom.

Then, on goes the ceiling:

Anyway, that's pretty much it for this time. Looks like more of the same next issue, too. So it goes.

Issue 25

So, sorry it's been a bit quiet. Been working on the inner frame for my BB-8, and also my Phasma armor showed up. (Why are so many of my hobbies Star Wars-related? And why are they so damn expensive?) Anyway, here's issue 25. Not a lot of excitement going on, really: just putting together the access corridor for the turrets.

Here are the 4 wall bits (it's an angled setup) and the padding trees. I wouldn't bother weathering these as they'll be barely visible anyway.

It's not entirely clear in the magazine, but here's which part tree goes with which pair of corridor bits (check the tab on the top right to help ID them):

Anyway, here's how they look once applied:

Not much, but it does mark the official quarter-of-the-way point of this build. That's pretty exciting. Here's a shot of what I have so far (not pictured: a small pile of body panels)...

It's starting to take shape. Slowly, but it's coming.
